Engagement Criteria
We really understand just how hard it is to start, grow and fund a business.
At FSV, we share the risk and rewards of growth with you. Our fees are based on success. For typical early stage firms we will provide the financial modeling, build the investor deck and assist in sales and business development. Our goal is to raise your firm VC funds and share in the long term success through an agreed upon combination of equity and cash.
Stage:
We generally work with early stage companies that have a current product and revenue stream. We work with firms that are looking beyond friends/family and are seeking angel rounds or VC funding. Most firms are looking for $100,000 - $3,000,000 of financing, generally known as the "A" round. We have also been successful in later stage "B" and "C" round expansion funding efforts as well.
Industry Focus:
We develop relationships with firms where we have a deep understanding of the targeted markets, including Financial Services, POS, Mobile, Apps, Alternative Energy, Travel, Healthtech, Digital Media, Consumer Electronics, Business Services and related internet software.
Geography:
Although we're based in New York City, and most of the firms we work with are located in the northeast, we will always consider qualified firms in other parts of the US.
Your Team:
You must have a strong technologist on your team. We have also found that at least 1 member of the team should have deep industry or segment specific experience. Successful management experience certainly helps, but we can help you assemble a full management team. Most importantly, you must have a strong orientation towards teamwork, have a strong passion for translating your vision into reality, and be flexible and adaptable as almost all business strategies and plans must change.
